The Nassau County Police Department in Long Island has been keeping a careful eye out for a "mad hatter" crook. While a hat might not be the greatest way to cover up, the suspect in question used several different hat disguises to conceal his identity.
The suspect has managed to rob eight different banks in a period of only two months - six Chase banks, a Capital One bank, and a Bank of America branch - all located in Nassau County.

The string of robberies began on May 5th . Nassau County Police Department managed to create a "Wanted" poster out of several snapshots, courtesy of each bank's security cameras.
After analyzing each snapshot, Detective Vincent Garcia-the Nassau County Police Department spokesman-disclosed that the police department is certain that each picture contains the same exact person - and robber.
The police description mentions that the suspect is either in his late 30s or early 40s and is roughly six feet tall. Police believe that the suspect may have fled from each crime scene in a brown two-tone SUV.
The hats the suspect had carried with him were switched at every stop he made - modifying his appearance enough times to remain undetected. Somehow in doing so, he even managed to not look suspicious during the constant change of styles.
Among these transitional (albeit creative) styles include a snug blue baseball cap with a white star, a black do-rag, a white brimmed hat, a black brimmed hat, a brown printed cap, and a fitted gray beanie - complete with a long, dark brown wig.
The police department stated that the suspect had handed bank tellers a note as he approached them. The note contained a written request for money and violent threats if the suspect's needs were not met.
The police disclosed that there is a $5,000 reward for any information regarding the suspect.
