Movie Web has provided several brief description for each character in the "Power Rangers" reboot film. To start off is Jason the Red Ranger, and he is described as a former high school legend, who excels at football as a quarter back. His skills in the game could provide a future career for him until a car accident that blew up his knee. The accident changed his life thinking his career is over and became lost. In the film, he is labeled as "a kid in need of redemption" and by the end he will step up to lead the rest of the teens and block out any personal baggage to unite as a team.
Kimbery, who is known as the Pink Ranger of the group, is described as "unconventionally cool" among the crowd making her very popular in school. Kimberly returned to school after a mysterious six month absence and care less about the rumors that were hinting on her. Her "rebel-without- a-cause" attitude hides a deep feelings that makes her vulnerable.
Trini the Yellow Ranger is a mysterious and extremely bright girl who happens to be the "new kid" in school. Due to her parents constant move from work, she often feels like the new kid all the time which makes a bit of a loner. She is described as self-sufficient, contemplative and very observant as she hopes to find a group of people that will eventually became her friends, whether she admits it or not.
Billy is the Blue Ranger and like the TV series is a genius but slightly awkward teenager. He suffers from social awkwardness and an inability to communicate with other people. His OCD is described as a challenge for him as he does not understand other peoples emotions or sarcasm. He is somewhat friends with Jason as he often goes to him.
Zack is the Black Ranger like his TV counterpart is the life of the party filled with bravado and swagger. he described as tough, cool and has no problem expressing himself especially with the ladies. But behind that lies something about himself that makes him feel inferior as he lives in a trailer along with his mother. He is a great athlete but he is no team player, which makes it interesting to see how he will interact with others.
Moviepilot previously reported that the plot of "Power Rangers" reboot will center in these five teenagers who were chosen by Zordon to protect the world against Rita Repulas. The website further adds that both Zordon and Rita fought one another along with first Rangers and was defeated.
The film's director Deam Israelite stated that overall tone of the movie will similar to that of TV series but more grounded in the real world, with real characters going through real life problems.
In other news, Venture Capital Post reports that "Hunger Games" and "Love, Rosie" star Sam Claflin will not join the "Power Rangers" reboot film.
Claflin representative has apparently cleared things out regarding the rumors of his casting saying that he was not offered to participate in the film, Cinemablend wrote.
