Lam's decision saddened his parents. His parents have always been supportive in every endeavour he took while he was with TVB.
Lam's parents also used all their possible connections, to secure opportunities for their son to boost his career and wanted their son to stay where he had started.
Even though they are not into Lam's decision, they were grateful for the opportunities that TVB has given to Raymond.
In the years that Raymond spent with the company, he owes a lot to TVB noting that he will not be the way he is right now if not because of the company.
TVB was such an important factor in Raymond's career that it helped put him in the spotlight for several years making him the favorite of many fans.
Although Raymond said that it was his sole decision to quit, there were allegations that it was because of Karena's continuous persuasion for him to quit TVB.
Accordingly, Karena was confident enough that Raymond will be able to reach a higher level in his music career whereas if the actor remains in TVB, chances for success will be blocked.
Virginia Lok, management of TVB, said that they always regarded Raymond Lam as a "biological son" of the company.
Virginia even offered Lam several lucrative and rewarding offers like allowing him to film Mainland Chinese dramas for 500,000 RMB per episode, but Raymond did not change his mind.
Raymond Lam has been planning to quit TVB for quite some time.
