Roy Jones Jr. is considered by many as one of the greatest professional fighters of all time. At age 46, it is apparent that he still has what it takes to perform knockouts albeit on unheralded club fighters already.

On Sunday, Jones (62-8, 45 KOs) registered the 45th knockout win of his storied career by flooring Eric Watkins (12-10-2, 5 KOs) in the sixth round of their scheduled cruiserweight 10-rounder at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

The match was Jones' first of three fights this fall, with the next two scheduled on August 29 and September 12 against American Danny Santiago and Briton Tony Moran respectively.

The former multi-division champion, who dominated the whole fight in the scorecards, landed a whipping left hook to the head of Watkins that knocked him out in the closing seconds of round six, as per Bleacher Report.

While nowhere near the speed, power, and footwork of his glory days, Jones had shown that he is still better than most professional boxers in the world today. However, against an elite fighter, it was also clear that his declined reflexes may no longer be as effective.

Even with the win, Jones received criticism from boxing analysts saying that he is staying too long in the fight business and that he may be risking his health because of it.

Boxing News 24 indicated that Jones is intending to remain in the cruiserweight division and probably fight some world champions at that level. He was planning a title bout with former WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck, but the German lost the belt to Polish Krzysztof Głowacki on August 14.

Jones was reportedly not interested in fighting Glowacki for the world title as the 29-year-old is too big and strong and an overall fatal risk for his wellbeing.

Meanwhile, Jones also received slight criticism about asking the fans to buy his new album after the Watkins fight, as per Complex.

It should be noted that aside from being a professional boxer, Jones is also a rapper and an actor. He released his first album in 2001 titled "Round One: The Album" and had decent success as a music performer.

In July 2014, after retiring Briton Courtney Fry in five rounds in Latvia, the boxer performed a rap song right there in the ring immediately after the fight with his boxing shorts, title belt, and blood, sweat, and tears still all over him.
