If it was up to Freddie Roach to decide who will Manny Pacquiao fight next, he chooses a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. first then a match with the current WBA (Super) and The Ring magazine light welterweight champion Danny Garcia.

However, as everybody knows, only Top Rank boss Bob Arum calls the shots on whoever the eight-division world champion would face next.

Boxing News 24 indicated that Arum was planning to set a rematch with Mayweather early next year, something which Roach had agreed with, and then a bout versus Amir Khan afterward, possibly in a Middle Eastern country.

A match with fellow Top Rank fighter Terence Crawford is also a possibility as the 27-year-old is said to be currently being groomed by Arum as the next Manny Pacquiao of his stable.

Boxing pundits are speculating that the Khan fight may be the least likely to happen as it may only be a misdirection ploy by Arum to make Mayweather's camp think that they have other options as to not demand too much of the fight purse.

Roach told reporters in an interview that he thinks his fighter will be ready to return to the ring about three to six months from the present. The 55-year-old coach also said that Garcia's come forward fighting style would be perfect for his ward and so he wants him to be the next opponent of the Pac-Man after the rematch with Floyd.

Bleacher Report noted that Roach was not buying Mayweather's claim that his fight with Andre Berto this September would be his last before retirement.

Roach said that he believes the pay-per-view king will not stop at 49 victories and will go for the record-breaking 50, and he hopes it will be against Pacquiao again so Mayweather can make more money.

The multi-awarded coach also said that Pacquiao would be "so much better" this time around if his injured shoulder would heal properly and that he can beat Mayweather "100 percent" if everything works out fine.

Meanwhile, Boxing News Online said that the fight with Garcia would be "a difficult one to make" since, like Khan and Mayweather, he is under Al Haymon's stable.
