Super Junior proved to be a big winner at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards (TCA) when they emerged as the Choice International Artist. The South Korean boyband bested other contenders, including Britain's One Direction and Little Mix, and Australia's 5 Seconds of Summer (5SoS).

On August 15, Suju became the first Korean artist to win at TCA. Fellow K-Pop performers 2NE1 and Girls' Generation were also up against the 13-strong boyband in the same category. According to Koreaboo, this year is the first time the Choice International Artist was awarded. However, members of Suju were not able to attend the awarding ceremony and receive their surfboard at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.
Member Choi Siwon tweeted on Sunday his gratitude in behalf of his groupmates, "We are like peanut butter & jelly, salt & pepper, jack & jill, and more! Thanks #teenchoiceawards."
Further proving their massive influence all across the globe, Suju's fandom E.L.F. won for themselves the Choice Fandom award. Suju supporters topped other fans club, including those of 5SoS, Lady Gaga, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, and One Direction.
Aside from TCA, Super Junior also found themselves at the top of various music charts, including the iTunes Album Chart in 10 European and Asian countries with their special album "Devil." The group also dominated weekly music and music video charts in China. Furthermore, Suju ranked the highest in KKBOX's Korean Album Top 100 Weekly for three weeks in a row, Toggle reported.
This year's TCA saw more than 25 million votes cast through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The annual awards show started in 1999 and aims to celebrate achievements in movies, music, television, sports, fashion, video games, and the Internet.
Meanwhile, Super Junior shot to stardom when they debuted in 2005 and became one of the pioneer K-Pop boybands. Their best-selling single "Sorry, Sorry" catapulted the group into international recognition in 2009. They have since been recognized in different music awards, including MTV Asia Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards.
