It was previously hinted that "Final Fantasy 7" remake will be arriving next year due an advertisement from Sony that revealed a list of upcoming games on 2016, such as "Tom Clancy's The Division," "Just Cause 3," "Rise of Tomb Raider," "Mirror's Edge Catalyst," "Persona 5" and many more.

There is still the question as to what month will the game be available for the PlayStation 4 console. IDigital Times reportedly claimed that retailing websites such as Amazon and EB Games have put a placeholder on "Final Fantasy 7" remake on Dec. 31, 2016 for the PS4, and surprisingly for the Xbox One since it is rumored to be a PS4 exclusive game.
Examiner speculated before that Square Enix will likely launch the "Final Fantasy 7" remake for PS4 in 2017, which marks the 20th Anniversary of the beloved Final Fantasy title. It is said that knowing how Square Enix's history of having delayed developement of Final Fantasy games, a 2017 launch could be a safe bet.
To make gaming fans hyped for "FFVII" remake, IGN reported that "Final Fantasy 7" is now available for the iOS software. Square Enix previously announced the game for the mobile devices at E3 2015 event.
Singapore based developers PD Design Studio also created a "FFVII" of their own called "FFVII: Re-Imagine." It is a 2D side-scrolling action game which features two playable characters (Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockheart), the use of Materia, Summons and Guardian Force.
The website further adds that "FFVII: Re-Imagine" will have a multiplayer mode, a setting based on Midgar's wasteland and gamers can play it for free.
With that in mind, Square Enix will likely gain more ideas for "Final Fantasy 7" remake's development. Die-hard Final Fantasy fans is said to have suggested several improvements that they want to see in the "FFVII" remake.
The first of these improvements is enhancing Yuffie Kisaragi's scenes within the game. Second is enhancing or improving the game's ending. The third could be a full voice acting for each character as the fourth improvement could be more mini games in the Gold Saucer. Lastly an alternate storyline wherein Aerith Gainsborough has died within the game's main plot.
Square Enix hinted before that they will likely add some new content in "Final Fantasy 7" remake while staying true to its original form fearing that fans will be very disappointed if they make some major changes.
