It was reported before that the "Love is Strange" star was in talks with Marvel about joining the 2017 "Spider-Man" reboot as Peter's aunt, and has confirmed that she will indeed make her appearance in the said film.
Marvel Studios has cited before that they intend to introduce Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as high school student who just starting to grasp his powers and still learning the ropes of being a superhero, just like Captain America, Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers.

The website further adds that there might be several changes in the 2017 "Spider-Man" reboot such as skipping the death of Peter's uncle Ben Parker and will try to step away from previous Spider-Man moments to make the film more grounded and can relate to teenage viewers.
Film writer John Francis Dailey commented that it will be a fun departure from the Peter Parker that Marvel fans came to know of and that he is just a kid trying to balance high school life and the changes he is experiencing after the spider bite tha gave him his powers.
It was also rumored before that the "Spider-Man" reboot film will be featuring several villains such as Vulture, Scorpion and Kraven the Hunter.
Vulture and Scorpion were first cited in an alleged cast list for the "Spider-Man" reboot being played by Jason Biggs and Billy Zane; however, a report from Fansided revealed that both Daily and Jonathan Goldstein dubunked these rumors and that the confirmed cast members are still Tom Holland and Marisa Tomei.
Kraven is also the likely choice for Spidey's main villain the 2017 reboot as Karen Moy, Sony's vice president of creative affairs have purchased a copy of the "Kraven Last Hunt" storyline in Amazon several months back.
