Before the Golden Age of Comic Book Movies filmgoers are enjoying right now, Marvel has licensed its characters to different movie outfits. This meant that the movie would bear the Marvel logo regardless of the quality of the film. This infographic distinguishes Marvel Studios movies from Marvel-licensed movies.

Fans who felt short changed with the recent Fantastic Four reboot will now see that it's not Marvel Studio's fault that the film was made that way. They had no creative control over that movie. It was all Fox since it was a Marvel-licensed movie.

A.V. Club reports that Reddit user CyanShades created this infographic to simplify things for fans and moviegoers. The Marvel Cinematic Universe films are being juxtaposed with the movies made by Sony and 20th Century Fox.

Twitter user @SirOmar23 tweeted the image comparing the different movie outfits and the films they produced. You can also view it in high resolution here.

Another infographic done by The Geek Twins also gives fans a visual guide on the rights involving various Marvel characters. Here's a glimpse from the same Twitter user. You can find a high-res image here.

It's important to note that all movie rights are based on who owns the characters. For example, Fox owns "X-Men," which means that all movies involving mutants are owned by them. Marvel, on the other hand, owns "Blade" which makes them the sole owner of vampire characters from the Marvel comic books.

Sony and Marvel have already reached a friendly compromise with Spider-Man, allowing him to appear in "Captain America: Civil War" and other Marvel movies. Same goes with Marvel characters as they can now be part of Spider-Man films. Meanwhile, the conflict between Fox and Marvel continues especially after they distorted the storyline of the epic flop "Fantastic Four."
