Good news gaming fans as new updates for "Super Smash Bros. 4" have been revealed regarding three possible characters added to the roster along with other rumored names very soon.

According to The Christian Today, Professor Layton from the "Professor Layton" puzzle game in Nintendo DS is rumored to be one of the new characters added to the "Super Smash Bros. 4" game for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS platforms.

The rumor began as the English voice actor of Professor Leyton, Christopher Robin Miller, was listed in the IMDB page of the "Super Smash Bros. 4" for game, TwinFinite reported. However, Miller's name has been taken down in the Wii U IMDB page, but he still remains in the 3DS IMDB page.

Several fans have asked Miller on Twitter if Professor Layton will be a part of the "Super Smash Bros. 4" roster as a possible new DLC character.

Miller took to Twitter and stated that he was not aware that Nintendo will add his character in the game, and would like to give update about it very soon.

In a sense, it is not yet confirmed whether Professor Layton will be part of "Super Smash Bros. 4."

Aside from Professor Layton, Gamerant reported that Shovel Knight is also another character rumored to be part "Super Smash Bros. 4," after an alleged report from Liam Robertson in the NintendoLife web page. The website further adds that Robertson's story on Shovel Knight could very well become a reality citing the game's popularity and wanted Shovel Knight to become a part of "Super Smash Bros." roster soon.

A report from the Christian Today also revealed that Shantae from the Nintendo Gameboy Color games is also rumored to be in game, when her voice actor's name Christina Valenzuela was also added in th IMDB list of "Super Smash Bros. 4."

So far, these three characters have the strongest cases for in future DLC characters in "Super Smash Bros. 4". Nintendo has previously announced the first wave of DLC characters within the game such as Ryu from "Street Fighter," Mewtwo in the "Pokemon" series, Lucas of "MotherS 3" and Roy from "Fire Emblem."

Yibada reportedly claimed that future DLCs will be released after Nintendo launch of the patch 1.1.0 update in "Super Smash Bros. 4." The 1.1.0 update will feature new content like Tourney mode, Miiverse and N64 stages, new wearable costumes and the ability for players to upload videos from YouTube.

It was reported before that other character names are also mentioned for future DLC updates such as Rayman, Banjoe Kazooie, Isaac and Ridley.

"Super Smash Bros. 4" is currently out for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U consoles.
