Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk  Cousins was impressive in their 31-13 preseason win over the Baltimore Ravens  at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, raising speculations he will replace Robert Griffin III as starter.

Cousins completed 20 of 27 passes for one touchdown and one interception while starting in place of Griffin and playing the entire first half, according to NFL.com.

He fired a pass to Jamison Crowder, who ran into the end zone for six points and also had an 83-yard march in the 2-minute drill that allowed ended Chris Thompson with a 1-yard scoring run.

It is also important to note that Cousins didn't surrender any sack.

While Cousins fumbled a snap, was intercepted and missed some throws, his game was more efficient to how Griffin has been performing in preseason games.

Kirk Cousins could step up to claim the Redskins starting quarterback assignment, especially after his solid showing against the Ravens, reports ESPN.

Cousins said that he hasn't been told about starting, but he intends to be ready He added that he'll do his best if asked to start, but noted that the opening season is weeks away.

Griffin could miss the season opener in two weeks against the Miami Dolphins after doctors required him to undergo another test within one to two weeks before he gets cleared, if at all.

Griffin exhibited concussion-like symptoms after a Detroit Lions player fell on him in a preseason game on Aug. 20, but was able to practice all week and was cleared to  play by neurologist Robert N. Kurtzke.

However, after discussing with other doctors,Kurtzke reversed his decision Friday and did not clear him against the Baltimore Ravens.

It wasn't sure what condition Griffin is.

The Redskins said he suffered a concussion, but Griffin wanted the specialists to be the one to categorize his medical condition.
