Seattle Seahawks rookie defensive end Frank Clark has been accused by San Diego Chargers players of trying to attack their quarterback Philip Rivers during the second quarter of their preseason game on Saturday at Qualcomm Stadium.

Rivers was then under a pile after he was sacked by another Seahawks player Jordan Hill, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

While supposedly in the  process of attacking Rivers, Clark was pulled away by Chargers left tackle King Dunlap, which resulted in a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness.

Dunlap said that he saw the 6'3", 272-pound Clark on top of Rivers and just wanted to protect the quarterback.

One of the Chargers players went on to say that Clark attempted to punch Rivers.

Clark, who was selected in the second round by the Seahawks, said the Chargers were just emotionally pumped up and added he is emotional himself but knows how to react properly and is being smart.

However, Clark and the Seahawks didn't respond to the post game allegations made by the Chargers as they made their way to their bus to leave the stadium.

It is not surprising for many to see Clark in the situation he placed himself in.

Clark faced misdemeanor domestic violence and assault charges due to an incident with an ex-girlfriend. He was dismissed by his college team Michigan last November and was convicted of a disorderly conduct charge in April.

The Seahawks are aware of Clark's off-field issues, but his ability to play multiple spots on defense made him irresistible for the Seahawks not to draft in the second round.

According to the St. Augsutine Record, the Seahawks remained hopeful that Clark could bring a unique skill to their team.
