Apple rushed out a security patch to counteract the Ins0mnia threat that plagued iOS devices recently. Two weeks after iOS 8.4.1 rolled out, things are normal once again in Apple's world.
iOS has been in the news with regards to the Ins0mnia threat, which is a serious stuff. It can get into iOS devices without complicated hacks. Legitimate apps that have been coded by the bad guys can trick Apple devices that they are in a debugging mode. It can then disable the auto shutdown for any running processes, and let the hackers mine your information. And even if the application is closed down, the hack will still be running in the background.

Apple finally pulled the beta from iOS 8.4.1 and rolled it out to iPhone and iPad users around the world. As suspected, there is nothing much on it, just the security patch for the Ins0mnia threat that created havoc to iOS users. The transition was smooth, it simply wiped out the iOS 8.4 that was just released last June 30. iOS 8, by the way is a year old.
Apple did not focus on the security patch for the update, instead, Apple let every one of its users know that the patch fixed some minor Apple Music glitches. Apple users should never ignore minor updates that appear on the surface to only address some Apple Music glitches, Mac Observer shared.
FireEye mobile researchers discovered a security vulnerability that allowed an iOS application to continue to run, for an unlimited amount of time, even if the application was terminated by the user and not visible in the task switcher. This flaw allowed any iOS application to bypass Apple background restrictions and experts have branded it as vulnerability Ins0mnia, FireEye announced.
Apple security team confirmed this vulnerability was fixed in iOS 8.4.1.
