Showrunners of "Supergirl" have chosen Iddo Goldberg to play the role of Dr. T.O. Morrow also known as Red Tornado. The actor will play double roles as both the doctor and the android.

Comicbook.com reports that Warner Bros. explained that "Red Tornado is the most advanced android the world has ever seen. Designed by scientist T.O. Morrow for the U.S. Army as the ultimate superweapon, he soon becomes sentient, posing a grave danger to National City -- including the people Supergirl cares about most."

It's still unclear how Goldberg will play both characters in the series. His addition to the cast also posts another question if he's a friend or a foe to Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). There's a possibility that an accident will merge the creator and the creation.

In the comics, Red Tornado is part of the Justice League. He was built by Morrow to destroy the group but pretty much like Marvel's The Vision the android developed his own consciousness and became a superhero. When not protecting humanity, Red Tornado is a small town teacher known as John Smith.

If he is a villain, the character will join Vartox, Livewire, Reactron, and Hellgrammite as one of Supergirl's enemies in the series.

Goldberg is known for his role as Isaac Walton in "Salem." He's also part of the Spike miniseries "Tut." Some of his movies include "Peaky Blinders," "Mob City," and "Secret Diary of a Call Girl."

"Supergirl" will premiere on Oct. 26 on CBS at 8:30 p.m., but will resume on its regular Monday timeslot at 8:00 p.m. starting Nov. 2.
