"Wonder Woman", the long anticipated superhero movie may just be ready to start filming after reports surfaced suggesting it will be shot in an exotic location in Italy.

D.C. Comics' "Wonder Woman" is finally going to be made into a live-action movie and according to Cinemablend, the film's producers have finally found the ideal location to start shooting the scenes. It was already announced that Gal Gadot will play "Wonder Woman" and Patty Jenkins will be sitting in the director's chair.  The exotic location reported to be the site of the latest superhero film is Basilicata in Italy.

A lot of film history can be found in Basilicata. Part of its territory is the city of Mattera which is the site where scenes from movie epics such as "Ben Hur" and "Pasolini" were shot. Basing from depiction of "Wonder Woman's" island home Themyscira in the comic books, the location is perfect and ideal. It's not just in Italy though that the film's scenes will be shot. According to International Business Times, included in the list of film locations is London.

As described in D.C. Comics' "Wonder Woman", Themyscira is a mystical island inhabited by Amazon female warriors who are reincarnations of women killed by men. Olympian goddesses Athena, Artemis, Aphrodite, Demeter, and Hestia bestow upon them special traits like strength and wisdom. The island is said to be off-limits to males but an army pilot named Steve Trevor bails out in the place and Princess Diana also known as "Wonder Woman" must take him back to human civilization and show them that her tribe of warriors exist.   

There were also rumors that "Wonder Woman" will not be the lone female super hero coming to the big screen. In a report by Fashion and Style, there is a big possibility that "Wonder Woman" will meet the characters of "Bat Girl", "Black Canary", and "Star Sapphire" in her solo film debut
