"Avatar 2" will get its own attraction site inside Animal Kingdom in Florida with the sequel set for release in December 2017. The plot's theme will revolve around the deep-sea environment.
"Avatar 2" will likely be shown around Christmas of 2017, the 20th Century Fox CEO Jim Gianopulos recently announced. This declaration was uttered by Gianopulos at the Gabelli & Company's Movie & Entertainment Conference. Prior to that, it was said that "Avatar 2" is scheduled to be released in 2016. However, the testing and research of advanced technology by director James Cameron led to the delay of the film's premiere.

"Avatar 2" director Cameron and the rest of his production team are set to work on the film's next installments, Movie News Guide reported. Fans of the blockbuster film can expect the development of the third and the fourth Avatar movie also. Reports claim that both "Avatar 2" and "Avatar 3" will take place in the ocean of Pandora.
"We're writing three simultaneously. And we've done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films. We're not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that and parallel with that, we're doing all the design. So we've designed all the creatures and the environments," Cameron said.
"Avatar 2" will build all new worlds and cultures with the use of ultra-high definition frame rates. It is reported that the director is planning to use the technology to allow for the underwater filming of sequences.
Meanwhile, there have been an announcement during Disney's annual D23 Expo in Anaheim, California that an Avatar-themed attraction will be opened in Florida, which will be called "Pandora: World of Avatar." The unveiling of the said attraction is said to transpire before the showing of "Avatar 2," Day Herald reported.
"Avatar" was first released in 2009, and instantly gained both commercial and critical success in contemporary motion pictures, becoming the highest grossing movie of all time. The sequel, "Avatar 2" is slated to premiere on December 2017, which will be followed by "Avatar 3" in 2018 and "Avatar 4" in 2019.
