The Japanese electronics giant Sony has announced a good amount of discount on its Xperia Z5 series of smart phones soon after its launch on Sept. 2, Wednesday .

On the IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) event held in Berlin, Sony has launched three smart phones-Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 and XpreiaZ5 Compact. According to Tech Times, the company touted the smart phones to be "engineered to make everyday experiences better" during the launch of Xperia5 series smart phones. However, soon after the launch, the company has unexpectedly cut down the prices of the handsets by 20 percent.

Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium initially hit the U.K. market shelves bearing the price tags £599 ($921), £549($844), and £699 ($1,075), respectively. This pricing was listed on Sony UK's official website but soon after it was reduced to £549 ($844) for Xperia Z5, £429 ($660) for Xperia Z5 Compact, and £629 ($967) for Xperia Z5 premium.

International Business Times reported Sony Xperia Z5 Premium to be the first one of its kind to have a king-size display of 5.5 IPS LCD display and 4k resolution of 2,160 × 3,840 pixels. The smart phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB in-built storage. All the three Xperia Z5 variants have fingerprint scanner for a better user experience. Sony claims that the three Xperia5 super stylish metal frame phones are water resistant.  With all these amazing features, the swift cut down of the price was unforeseen.

Tech Radar anticipates the price cut down as was one of the strategies along with the sophisticated features to be little more competitive this time. The unexpected 20 percent cut down in the prices of the Xperia Z5 series might let down loyalists who preordered the smart phones. Tech Times also predicts about the initial pricing being erroneously placed by the company. Nevertheless, buyers can cash in on the slash down of price to grab their choice of Xperia Z5 smart phone.
