Pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26 KOs) easily dispatched the challenge of former two-time welterweight champion Andre Berto (30-4, 23 KOs) in another lackluster 12-round unanimous decision victory at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Mayweather, who predictably won the match in all scorecards, 120-108, 118-110, and 117-111, told reporters afterward that he is officially out of the sport and that he will not miss a thing about it.

"My career is over. It's official," said the pay-per-view king, as reported by ESPN. "Hopefully, we can find the next Floyd Mayweather who can break the record. Right now, I only want to spend time with my family."
If this is indeed the last fight of the unbeaten American, then he will be finishing his slate tied with that of the late great Rocky Marciano at 49-0, something that Mayweather seemed not too enthusiastic about.
"That means it's part of boxing history. Records are made to be broken," the reigning WBA (Super), WBC, and The Ring welterweight champion candidly said after being inquired about his and Marciano's feats.
Mayweather's fight with Berto is the sixth and final one in his two and a half year contract with TV and broadcast giant Showtime/CBS and there are no indications as of the moment that it is going to be extended.
The Guardian noted that because he already finished the Showtime deal, he is now officially a free agent and can command "his own price" for another potential record-breaking fight next year.
Mayweather insisted that he is hanging up his gloves to end a boxing career that basically included staying away from punches and using in-ring smarts to deter any exchanges.
Yahoo Sports' Kevin Iole said that "while he didn't always fight the way many fans wanted, he leaves the sport with his faculties intact and hundreds of million in the bank," which seemed to be the 38-year-old's goal all along.
"There's nothing else for me to do in the sport of boxing. I made great investments, I'm financially stable, well-off. I had a great career. My record speaks for itself," Mayweather said.
Although the champion is adamant that this is his farewell fight, a lot of people are not buying his claim especially that a new 20,000-seater MGM arena is reportedly being built behind the Las Vegas strip.
MGM officials are said to be eyeing Mayweather to kick off activities in the new stadium when it opens in April.
