Reports are out that former light welterweight titlist Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) and boxing legend "Sugar" Shane Mosley (48-9-1, 40 KOs) are planning their own super-fight on December 13th, which is reportedly going to be set in Dubai.

Boxing News 24's Scott Gilfoid noted that after Khan failed to land fights against cash cows Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao in the past couple of years, he may just end up fighting an aged version of the three-division world champion Mosley.

Days before his 44th birthday, Sugar knocked out fellow older statesman Ricardo Mayorga, 41, in the sixth round of their scheduled 12-rounder at the Forum in Inglewood late last month. Although the fight had two big names in it, it was generally viewed as sluggish and lackluster especially that Mayorga was noticeably out of shape when he fought.

Gilfoid said that Khan would be in a "no-win situation" if accepts the Mosley fight because if he wins people would just see it as a victory over a washed-up legend while if he loses or simply "made to struggle" by Mosley, the fans would never view him as a legitimate elite boxer again.

"The fight that has been offered to me is Amir Khan," said Mosley, as reported by SkySports. "Amir Khan said he might do a fight with me in Dubai, so we are checking on that, December 13, and that should be interesting."

"We've been talking about it, me and Amir, doing something out there in Dubai, and hopefully it works out. I can't wait," he added.

Fight Saga indicated that while the 28-year-old Bolton native initially prefers a rematch with former IBF junior welterweight and former WBA super lightweight champion Lamont Peterson, the opportunity to have a big-time fight with a high-profile opponent to earn big bucks may just change his mind.

Peterson beat Khan via split decision during their light welterweight title fight in December 2011 and the latter had been seeking a rematch with the 31-year-old American ever since.

However, the lure of a possible fight with Mayweather or Pacquiao held Khan fighting lowly opponents while waiting for any of the two to accept his challenge.

This time, though, he found Mosley as the willing big-name partner to dance with him in the ring.
