China's President Starts His US Visit In Seattle To Meet The Tech Giants
Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Seattle on Tuesday, Sept. 22. This commences his week-long U.S. visit and one of its agenda is to meet with the CEOs and leaders in the technology and aerospace industries, followed by a black-tie state dinner at the White House hosted by President Barack Obama and an address at the United Nations.

When the Chinese delegation landed in Seattle, they were welcomed by former Washington state Governor Gary Locke, who also served as U.S. ambassador to China. Locke was also with the following business leaders namely: Boeing CEO Ray Conner, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz and Brad Tilden, CEO of Alaska Airlines, USA Today says in a report.
Xi’s stopover in the ‘City of Flowers and Goodwill’ aims not just to huddle with the country’s biggest names in the tech and aerospace but also to have some dialogues and exchanges of views with these American tech titans, who are believed to be really interested in expanding their businesses in China.
According to Los Angeles Times, people should not expect hearing much about the “Asian powerhouse's misdeeds” during the Chinese President’s three-day visit to the Puget Sound region. As it included in the report, China and Washington state have a 35-year economic and cultural relationship – making such welcome warmer and more accommodating than his other U.S. destinations.
Keeping forging agreements and improving relations with the world's second-largest economy upright, the U.S. government officials and business leaders tend to relay resilient messages particularly on the cyberspace security, Internet censorships and intellectual property violations.
"In my view, the best thing President Xi can do when he visits here is address uncertainty," said John Frisbie, head of the U.S.-China Business Council. And that uncertainty includes the Chinese government's response to the country's economic slowdown and "uncertainty on strategic issues, too, including cyber security."
In Xi’s prepared speech upon his arrival in the city, he referred to this visit as ‘America's gateway to Asia’ – just the right timing in strengthening U.S.-China relations.
