Facebook's recently released Instant Articles platform which earned so much interest, especially among news-related sites. The Washington Post, one of the leading American daily newspaper, is the first in the line in partnership with Facebook on promoting this article platform.
According to the Post, all of its new articles will be sent to Facebook and will be delivered in a reformatted form of the instant article. TR Vishwanath, one of the developers for Facebook, shared in a post today that Instant Articles provides fast and interactive experience for the readers. News articles will now be delivered in Facebook through the News Feeds.
The Instant Articles are supported by the same technology that everyone uses in uploading photos and videos in Facebook. This allows a much faster display compared to commonly existing mobile web article platforms.
Aside from lightning-fast reader experience, the developers from Facebook also made sure to design the Instant Articles to be publisher-friendly. This allows publishers to make use of their existing Content Management System or CMS.
The developers saw to it that the Instant Articles are easy to use. According to Vishwanath, there are no new tools to learn, and publishers can easily publish their full catalog of articles each day.
This indeed has paved a new horizon for the field of journalism. As Fred Ryan, a publisher from The Washington Post, puts it, working with Facebook will allow daily news to attract more readers and consequently promote quality engagement.
The Post wanted to reach its avid readers in all article platforms and they are determined to reach out to their reader including future subscribers. He added that the launching of Instant Articles will enable them to reach more people.
