Hard-core players were excited of the franchise but unexpectedly were saddened when 2K Games pulled out BioShock from Apple's App Store. Once the app is deleted on the user's device, there is no way to re-download it anymore on App Store. It is completely understandable that users got upset of the 2K Games' gesture.

Engadget reported that the world-renowned developer 2K Games launched originally BioShock for iOS last year.
However, last July, compatibility issues are the main concern of users that could hardly play it on versions of iOS 8.4 or higher. 2K Games said that they are working to fix it, but it appears that they have given up completely. They were not able to inform those who purchased the $15 app before pulling it out in the App Store. They have verbalized their regret on the initial customer service error and were able to defend the action.
At first, they were able to release an official statement saying that they provided wrong information to the users regarding the removal of BioShock for the iOS platform from the App Store. They also stated that it is currently under repair in order to make it compatible with iOS 8.4 version. Then they promised that it will be brought back to the App Store once it is good to go.
A customer service representative stated that the removal was the 2K's decision and that they cannot give a full refund because of incomplete transactions. But Apple was able to cater complete refunds.
Players can still continue playing the game with iOS 8.3 or earlier versions. Deepest apologies were extended from the 2K Games for the erroneous announcement that created a stir to the BioShock gamers. According to Game N Guide, 2K Games promised to be more sensitive to their actions and to give full awareness to their customers on disseminating correct information from now on.
