Facebook is again successful in its experimental makeover of Notes. Facebook has revealed last Friday Sept. 25 that it makes its redesign official. Everyone can now use the refreshed version of Notes.

For years Notes was ignored by the company and Facebook users. It has been around for a quite a while now. Its last major update was in 2010.

Since Facebook is building out its publishing features on media outlets, 1.25 billion users of Facebook were encouraged to write their own blog posts on their social network Facebook Notes according to Mashable.

Facebook Notes lets users write nicely formatted long posts. It makes posts more attractive, and new customization options are introduced. It used to be all about the text but now it has greater prominence on graphics and formatting.

Some much-needed customization features are in its update. A set of basic text formatting tools can now be accessed such as headers, block quotes, and bulleted and numbered lists. Users can also add cover images to each note they make. Bold, underline, and italicize text thru keyboard shortcuts can also be done. No built-in buttons are offered yet on those features.

The Notes' previous versions have some of these formatting options and the ability to embed photos but its redesign makes it more elegant. This is because there is already a new font and more visually appealing layout. A cover photo is featured at the top with a minimalist editor on hand to beautify the photo. Any other images can be included on the post. Resizing the photos can be made within the mini CMS. There is no need to fire up an image editor as reported by Beta News.

Notes are now more similar to blog posts rather than just an extended status update. Facebook will now look more like the blogging startup Medium that Twitter cofounder Ev Williams created.

Creation is unfortunately limited at the website at the moment now. It can be made either public, private, or shared within a limited group of people depending on the user. It is also fully viewable on mobile.
