China And Denmark Have Mutual Interests

On Sep. 28, Monday, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China is ready to enhance cooperation further with a European Union nation, Denmark, regarding on the major global issues such as the climate change and Arctic scientific exploration.
According to New China, Xi met the Danish Prime Minister, Lars Loekke Rasmussen, to talk about improving each other's political mutual trust, to continue to respect each other's core interests as well as major concerns, and to expand the coordination within the United Nations and other international organizations.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the ongoing debate of the United Nations General Assembly. Xi then noted the review on the "fruitful exchanges and cooperation" between their two countries. The bilateral trade has exceeded $10 billion, in which China becomes Denmark's top trade partner in Asia and the second largest overseas destination for investment on agriculture, science and education, medicine, environmental protection, and energy saving.
China also anticipates the possibility of carrying out third-party cooperation with Denmark as well as its major and active role in the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative to promote regional connectivity and economic growth.
CCTV also reported that the two nations must consolidate public support for sound bilateral relations by enhancing youth and student exchanges as well as by providing more convenience for visits and travels.
China stressed that it has always supported the European integration process and also wants to see a prosperous Europe, strong euro, and united European Union. Xi hopes that Copenhagen and Beijing will join hands to push forward continuously the China-EU relations as well as cooperation between the Nordic countries and China.
In line with the principles of common but differentiated responsibilities, respective capabilities, and fairness, China is ready to work closely with Denmark to push balanced, all-round, and forceful and purposeful new deal.
