Avid customers can then switch from their current speeds of 50 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 152 Mbps to faster, more powerful Vivid 70 Mbps, Vivid 150 Mbps, and Vivid 200 Mbps, Digital TV Europe reports. Proudly, the company announced that the lowest speed that they are extending is about the same speed as the fastest speed of BT infinity

According to Tech Radar news, the fastest speed BT Infinity is offering is at 76 Mbps, which is also the same case for Sky Fibre that promises to provide 300 Mbps internet speed by 2020.
It could be recalled that in the past five years, this has been the third speed boost Virgin Media has offerred their customers. On top of it, within the same time frame, they have also increased the speed to up to four times compared to what they were providing in 2010 (from 50 Mbps to Vivid 200 Mbps).
With Vivid 200 Mbps, a user can download a two-hour long high definition movie in approximately minutes and download a music album in three seconds.
Virgin Media claims that, with the help of DOCSIS 3.0 technology, they will be able to provide these ultrafast speeds and expect 90% of the customer to upgrade by the end of 2015.
Currently, Virgin Media has invested £3 billion, by far the biggest private investment in the UK's broadband infrastructure. Its aim is to connect four million more UK homes and business to its network.
Gregor McNeil, Virgin Media's managing director of consumer, said that they are sending out a simple message:
"...if you want to be certain that you are signing up to true ultrafast broadband speeds of 100Mbps and above, Vivid from Virgin Media is the new standard."
