(Photo : REUTERS/Steve Dipaola) Police investigators are seen following a mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon.
A man entered two classrooms in Roseburg's Umpqua Community College on Thursday and began shooting at the teachers and students. The gunman killed at least ten people and injuried seven others before he was killed by responding law enforcement officers.
The slain shooter has been identified as Chris Harper Mercer. Mercer, 26, who was allegedly born in England, has been described as 'angry.' Local law enforcement agencies have gotten hold of some letters written by the dead shooter, which can be considered "hateful".

A survivor of the ordeal has revealed that the gunman sought out those who profess the Christian faith and killing them where they stood, according to CNN.
Local police chief John Hanlin briefed reporters on the details of the gruesome massacre. However, he refused to disclose the name of the dead gunman saying that he has no intention of making him famous for his deadly act.
Policemen, who immediately went to the scene, prevented the gunman from killing more people, according to government officials.
Investigators have revealed that Harper was prepared to shoot it out with the police. The items recovered from the dead shooter includes a rifle, several hand guns, body armor and substantial rounds of ammunition.
The police scoured the entire campus and surrounding area looking for bombs or accomplices of Mercer.
The gunman is thought to have started his killing spree in one of the College's building before proceeding to another. Most, if not all of the dead and injured, were discovered in two rooms.
Mercy Medical Center posted online that it had taken ten people injured in the college shooting. Meanwhile, Peace Health Sacred Heart Medical Center reportedly took three of the injured victims.
The list of the injured admitted in hospitals is much higher than the official figure, but no explanation has been given regarding the discrepancy.
American President Barrack Obama has called for a revision of the country's laws regarding the ownership of firearms after being informed of the grim news.
He said that such massacres have become a common occurrence in the United States and that the government needs to take steps that will prevent similar crimes in the future.
