Google on Wednesday introduced the Asus onHub router to the market. This is the second onHub router product launched by Google.
The Verge reported that Google has enlisted the help of Asus to provide Wi-Fi users with a router much more pleasant looking than the regular one. Although the Asus onHub router shares some similarities with the first onHub, this one has some unique features of its own.

Users can wave their hand on top of the Asus onHub if they want to strengthen the Wi-Fi signal to particular computer or mobile device. However, the company is yet to fully explain how it can boost the signal to one device over others.
The Google router can also choose the appropriate antenna on which to transmit the Wi-Fi signal. This feature is absent on the first onHub router, which was manufactured by TP-Link. Google has promised, however, that TP-Link routers will soon be updated with the same feature next month, according to CNET.
The onHub router's stylish designs means that they are really intended to be placed in plain view and not hidden to make sure that Wi-Fi signals come in strong. Hiding routers in cabinets tends to block the signals.
The makers of the Asus onHub router wisely decided to include motion sensors on their device. This encourages users to display them on the table or the shelf.
The Asus onHub router can be operated by the user through the Google On app which can either be installed on an Android or Apple iOS mobile device. This will make it easier for owners to set and use the router.
The second onHub is pricier than the first one by at least $20. It is also much bigger, but lighter. Both onHubs though have the same single LAN and USB 3 port. The TP-Link and newer Asus model both run at Wi-Fi signal 802.11 ac and network at 5GHz.
The Asus onHub will have Bluetooth functions and automated wireless standard. However, such features will only be activated at a later time after the product launch.
Customer who want the Asus onHub router can preorder them now for around $220. Google said that its latest router will be available by November.
