Facebook Inc. is getting ready to launch its new standalone news application called "Notify", which will carry real time news content.
The application, set to launch next week, will feature content from various media partners including the Washington Post, Vogue, Mashable, Billboard, CNN, Comedy Central and CBS, according to Financial Times.

Facebook contacted with nine news publishers to launch instant articles, which publish their content directly to Facebook social network's mobile news feeds.
Mobile Napps reported that before the Notify app, Facebook has already added 'Instant Articles', which features pre-loaded content from different publishers they have partnered with. The content is arranged in such a way that users can read the articles with amazingly zero loading time.
Facebook new app is developed to be different from other application similar to it. Instead of just providing content and waiting for a user to visit the section where that certain content is, the app will automatically alert the user about the new stories as they are added into the page.
'Notify' is the company's new application and will compete the service called 'Moments' from Twitter and 'News' from Apple. Twitter recently launched Moments service which aims to provide a better way of curating and aggregating content for users and help users follow live events. The pre-installed 'News' app on iOS 9 has garnered over 40 million users since it was first launched, according to Apple.
However, Facebook is not available to comment regarding this matter.
Toronto Sun reported that the company's shares which are set to report quarterly earnings after the market close on Wednesday is up 1.2 percent at $103.8 on the Nasdaq.
The new Notify app from Facebook may not take any longer for them to be able to compete against 'Yahoo News Digest,' 'Flipboard,' and 'Snapchat.' Facebook is trying to spread its influence throughout the world using their app and from other competitors being unable to make something better.
