Oscar Juarez, declared one of Ohio's most wanted fugitives since his escape from prison in the seventies, has been taken into custody in St. Paul, Minnesota on Thursday Nov. 5, according to Bills Insider.
Juarez was 'on the run' for almost 40 years, assuming a different identity - Eleasor Morales Moreno. He was apprehended in Minnesota after a widespread investigation conducted by the Cold Case Unit of the United State Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Juarez was convicted on June 24, 1975 and received a sentence of life imprisonment for aggravated murder. He was connected to a fatal Toledo shooting that happened a few weeks prior to his conviction.
On April 2, 1978, Juarez made his escape from the Marion Correctional Institution. Juarez allegedly used a saw to cut through prison bars and eventually made it through the north fence of the correctional facility. To conceal his escape, Juarez placed a dummy in his bed and covered it with blankets.
Juarez hid in several states for almost 40 years assuming fake identities, according to U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot and Ohio Regional Parole Director Todd Ishee.
He was arrested six times due to minor charges in California. Another charge was filed against him in Texas almost 27 years ago. These charges did not undergo due process of the law since he was using a fake identity.
Juarez was finally arrested last week when the United States Marshals North Star Fugitive Task Force finally caught him in his apartment located at 382 Pierce Street in Minnesota. Leads for his arrest were provided by the Cleveland U.S. Marshalls Cold Case Unit.
Juarez lived in the apartment building for nine years working as a newspaper delivery man for the Star Tribune. He was described by his neighbors as a "nice, quiet man."
"This was our oldest cases many believed was impossible to solve," said Ishee, who further explained that Juarez became one of the most wanted fugitives after evading his life imprisonment sentence.
Juarez is summoned to appear before the U.S. District court in St. Paul on Friday.
