China Landslide Update: Death Toll Rises to 21

The death toll from a landslide in China's eastern province of Zhejiang has been raised to 14. Initially just nine people were reported dead and as many as 28 missing.
NY Times reports that the local government confirmed 21 deaths on Sunday. About 16 people are still missing after the landslide at Lidong Village. One survivor has been transported to the hospital and is now in stable condition.

According to reports, the landslide struck the village on Friday at around 10:50 p.m. Torrents of mud and rocks buried twenty houses and claimed the lives of 21 people.
A rescue operation was organized immediately by the Zhejiang governor. 2,300 rescuers and rescue vehicles were reportedly sent to the landslide site.
According to the local bureau, the province has been experiencing heavy rains for two days. It was still raining when the landslide occurred.
