The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), the governing body presiding over Luis Suarez's biting case, have reduced the sanctions bestowed by Fifa for the altercations in the World Cup group stage incident, last June 24.
While his four-month ban and nine-game professional ban from soccer was upheld, the CAS has allowed Suarez to interact with his new team, Barcelona. This includes training and friendly games with the Uruguay national team.

After Suarez's prior appeal to Fifa had failed, his lawyer Alejandro Bilbi forwarded the case to CAS, stating that it should be reduced as it infringed on the player's "fundamental rights."
The Switzerland-based independent body have confirmed the general sanctions of Fifa. However, they stated that not allowing Suarez any football activity whatsoever was "excessive" and that it would have an impact on the player after the suspension ended.
The President of Uruguay's soccer federation commented on Suarez's punishments, saying that he expected something different, although not that much.
He also added that the CAS for Sport, "is a totally independent tribunal, and this is to do with the way people see things, it's a cultural matter.""
"The way we live football in South America is different to Europe; for us there are things which are normal and which deserve sanctions, but not such harsh ones. The training is something positive because not being able to train was too rough."
While the incident had caused a lot of trouble and controversy, it did not stop Suarez from signing a £75 million deal with FC Barcelona.
Suarez will now be able to train along fellow football superstars, Lionel Messi and Neymar. He will be missing as many as 11 matches, including three Champions League ties after their opening La Liga match against Elche.
His debut with his new squad will most likely be on October 26 against Real Madrid in El Clasico.
