South Korean electronics company LG announced on Thursday that it is halting all sales and orders of the LG Urbane Second Edition smartwatch after the discovery of some major hardware issues that needs to be fixed.
LG is yet to comment on whether it is planning to completely pullout the Urbane Second Edition out of the market or it will reissue the smartwatch once the problem is fixed.

In a statement picked up by CNet, LG said, "Late in the quality assurance process for the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, our engineers were made aware of a hardware issue which affects the day-to-day functionality of the device. After further investigation, the decision was made to cancel the rollout of the Urbane 2nd Edition LTE due to the complicated nature of the issue."
LG added that the decision to reissue the smartwatch will be decided "at a later time." The company's current priority is to make sure that all of its products conform to the specific quality requirement that they are imposing.
The decision to cancel the sales of the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE came in just days after it was released by AT&T and Verizon for preorder on Nov. 11. Both companies, AT&T and Verizon, are yet to comment on the sales stoppage imposed by LG.
The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE sports some breakthrough technology. According to The Verge, it is the first smartwatch to support cellular network connectivity. Supporting cellular network means that the smartwatch can be synced to a smartphone through traditional cellular network rather than Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Serving as a follow up to LG's Urbane series of smartwatches, the 2nd Edition was unveiled in May. The smartwatch retains the classic circular face that makes it look more like a traditional watch rather than a fancy gadget. It also supports 480x480 resolution, the highest display resolution of any Android smartwatch.
