While the first tablet of Xiaomi did not make the expected splash which the company hoped for, the new gadget, second 7.9-inch slate could make more of an impact.
According to CNet, the company, Xiaomi is selling the new tablet at an amazing low price point. With just 999 yuan, a customer can get it. The device together with the Redmi Note 3 will go on sale on 27 in China on November.

The technology firm from China has unveiled three new products to mark the end of the year, and one of them is a real surprise. The verge reported. One of them is the Mi Pad 2, which, like its predecessor, it shares its design notes with the Apple devices. Although the original Mi Pad had a colorful plastic casing that was reminiscent of an iPhone 5C, Mi Pad 2 comes with an all-metal case much more similar to the iPad mini.
Xiaomi says the Mi Pad 2 is thinner and lighter than Mi Pad which was the first-generation. The gadget comes with a 7.9-inch, 2048 x 1536 resolution screen and 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 64GB of internal storage. The company has also swapped out the Mi Pad's original Nvidia Tegra K1 chip that was for Intel's 64-bit Atom X5-Z8500 processor, and given the tablet a reversible USB Type-C port.
Digging deeper though, two key differences are seen: The Mi Pad 2 comes with either the Google Android or Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems and runs on an Intel Atom chip.
It's not clear whether Xiaomi will use Windows 10 Mobile on the tablet and if yes, it is likely not to pay Microsoft any licensing fees as companies are allowed to install Windows 10 Mobile on gadgets that have smaller screen sizes at no cost, ZDNet reported.
At the end of this month, the Mi Pad 2 with a storage of 16 GB will be available for $156, on the other hand, the 64 GB model will cost $197 only. Initially, only the Android edition will be sold, with the Windows 10 model launching next month.
