In just more than a month after the company unveiled its first connected wearable devices, Fossil Q announced on Thursday that it will release the Q Founder smartwatch.

Fossil chief creative officer Jill Elliott-Sones told PC Magazine, "Technology is a major disruptor in many industries right now - even fashion. But to successfully merge the two, you need to have the fashion design expertise and focus on it first."

The Fossil Q Founder has an estimated battery life of 24 hours on a single full charge. The smartwatch is available in selected Fossil stores and online shops. The smartwatch will fetch a retail price tag of $295.

At the heart of the Fossil Q Founder is an Intel Atom processor that promises to turn Android Wear devices into a "powerhouse."

The flagship smartwatch from Fossil sports a touchscreen digital face and a stainless steel strap. The smartwatch's round face combined with the stainless steel strap makes it look more like a traditional watch rather than an edgy futuristic device, according to Slash Gear.

The Q Founder will join the rest of the Q lineup of devices that were released in October. These include the Reveler and Dreamer fitness trackers and the Grant smartwatch.

The Fossil Q Founder, along with other Q devices, are compatible with smartphones running on the Android 4.4 operating system or higher. For Apple devices, it must be at least an Apple 5 and runs on iOS 8.2 or newer version.

The devices can sync on a smartphone via Bluetooth connectivity. They can also sync with the Fossil mobile app, which has features like the built-in fitness tracker, notification center and "curiosity" alert.
