The White House was under a lockdown on Thursday after one person successfully jumped the highly guarded fence. Three hours later in the afternoon, the White House was given an all-clear call immediately after authorities caught the man who had climbed over North Lawns' fence.
According to CBS News, despite the quick arrest, the White House was still on lockdown as the secret service performed a security sweep of the area.

Joseph Caputo who was identified as the fence-jumper, wore what was seen to be the American flag. He knelt down on the Presidential mansions' lawn and put his hands up after he scaled its barrier at approximately 2:45 p.m.
A spokesperson at the Secret Service Office of Government and Public Affairs, Robert Hoback, said criminal charges are pending for Joseph Caputo. By that time, the south and north fence lines were closed temporarily.
The Thursday's incident, which occurred on Thanksgiving Day is the latest in a string of fence-jumping episodes. It follows recent attempts by the Secret Service and National Park Service to improve security measures around the presidential mansion following a string of breaches. Steps included changing the fence to make it harder for people to jump over, The Guardian reported.
Installation of temporary "anti-climb" spikes to the top of the Presidential mansion fence, specifically to discourage such breaches, is among the steps announced earlier this year.
According to Yahoo News, the incident occurred at a time when President Obama and his family were at the White House celebrating Thanksgiving, as per to his public schedule.
People regularly try to scale the White House fence. One female was arrested in July in a similar incident, and another person was arrested in April.
