The new Land Rover Evoque Convertible SUV has been officially unveiled and is expected to go on sale in the spring of 2016.

In general terms, car safety means stability controls, the airbags working properly, and also crash avoidance technology. However, for the makers of the new Land Rover SUV, the concept of car safety means so much more. This car is specially designed for VVIPS like the state heads and CEO's, whose lives are of the topmost priority.

Another bullet proof Land Rover vehicle, which is stealing the headlines, is the Range Rover Sentinel. It can sustain an explosion, but it is designed as a luxury car, with a six figure price tag.

It was introduced with the sole purpose of saving lives of people who are vulnerable to getting assassinated or murdered, including public officials and business men and women.

The Range Rover Sentinel is produced under the Land Rover's special vehicle operations unit (SVO), according to Engadget. This is the same division which produces fast versions of the normal SUV's. To make this beast, the SVO takes the top in-line model of the Land Rover, the Range Rover Autobiography model, which is worth $140,000.

It is then reinforced through a passenger cell, to enable it withstand powerful bullets. It is also made to go through a super high strength steel, which makes it capable of withstanding high intensity explosions. It then goes through a tamper proof exhaust system and a self sealing fuel tank in fixed in to it.

This tank protects the car from a tank puncture.  Back up batteries and tire backups are also put in the car. All the steel and glass make it to weigh more than 5000 lbs.
