The OnePlus X originally came out with the Oxygen OS version 2.1, which is OnePlus' answer to the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. The company then took into consideration the comments and suggestions of their users to incorporate a lot of new features from the OnePlus designers in the new update.

The Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update will be rolling out in phases. The update will come to a hand-picked group of OnePLus X owners first. This strategy will allow some time for the company to perform mass testing. The upgrade will then be available to all users. It will happen about 48 hours from completion of the mass testing.

The major highlights of the Oxygen OS 2.1.3 update are as follows:

  • The SD card improvements will be included in the update.
  • A lot of UX improvements will be seen post the upgrade.
  • exFAT support for SD card will be made available.
  • The ability to move the apps from the SD card will be done.
  • There will now be fixed reboots after removing the SD card in its active state.
  • Many security patches will also be incorporated
  • There will of course be the general bug fixes and optimizations.

Even though Oxygen OS 2.1.3 is a major update for OnePlus X, users will still not be able to get a taste of the Android Marshmallow update through this upgrade. It will still some time until OnePlus releases the counterpart for the latest Android Marshmallow for OnePlus devices.
