Golden State Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton has been named the NBA's Coach of the Month for November despite being technically win-less.
The 35-year-old former pro earned the award by leading the defending NBA champions to a perfect 19-0 record to begin the season as Steve Kerr's substitute, ESPN reported.

"I knew Luke would be a great coach when I hired him, but there is a huge jump from being a one-year assistant to being a head coach," said Kerr. "I went through the same jump without even being an assistant. This stuff always comes down to talent."
In his first capacity as an NBA head tactician, Walton guided the Warriors to one of their best starts in franchise history. Golden State currently hold the top spot in the Western Conference and have been defeating teams by an average of 15.3 points per game, according to The Score.
Walton, who played nine years and won two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers during his playing stint in the pro league, temporarily took the Warriors' head coaching job from Steve Kerr when the sophomore bench tactician was sidelined due to health complications after undergoing back surgery during the offseason.
Despite his team's repeated triumphs, all of the 19 Warriors' victories are said to be technically credited to Steve Kerr because he is the official head coach of the organization.
"I think it's ridiculous," Kerr said. "I'm sitting in the locker room and watching the games on TV, and I'm not even traveling to most of the road games. Luke's doing all the work with the rest of the staff. Luke is [19-0] right now. I'm not. So it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, to be honest with you. I don't even understand it."
The Coach of the Month award winner expressed no apprehensions over being winless, saying "Steve's done a lot for me. It's the least I can do to add a couple wins on his total for him with all he's done for me."
