Apple Music is headed to Sonos and will be available for public beta starting on Dec. 15 with an official launch scheduled for early 2016. The new streaming Apple Music service was launched in June and will be used with Sonos speakers for the first time.

The wireless speaker company Sonos and Apple just announced that a new Sonos Apple Music public beta will go live to all Sonos users in approximately two weeks from now.

Users with Sonos speakers will be able to access Apple Music. They can stream songs from For You, Radio, New, and My Music - basically everything except Connect which is a social feature that is intended to link artists with their fans. They can also access Apple Music features using its beta through their dedicated Sonos apps on iPhone, iPod touch, Mac, iPad, and PC, with full support set to roll out in 2016.

Sonos co-founder and Chief Executive Officer John MacFarlane said that curated streaming is the focus and drives most of the music listening. Over 90 percent of the people listening to music on Sonos speakers is from streaming services. Apple Music will be a catalyst that will raise that percentage even higher.

Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue mentioned that Apple's customers love using Sonos and want to enjoy Apple's service in the comfort of their homes. The company is thrilled to be working with Sonos to provide fans more places to enjoy the Apple Music experience.

Beats Music is shutting down as of Nov. 30. Sonos users can move their Beats Music accounts to Apple Music in order to save their playlists before the rollout of the Apple Music for Sonos beta as Sonos recommends.

Apple has brought its streaming music service to Android in early November. This is the first time that the company has ever offered one of its services on a mobile platform of Google.
