On February, John Wilson uploaded the images captioned: "Very proud of my son, Darren Wilson on his receiving a Commendation from his Police Department."
According to reports, Officer Wilson, among others, were commended for performing 'extraordinary effort in the line of duty' a few months before Brown's shooting on August 9.
Recent developments on the case were released by the Ferguson police department on Friday when Wilson was identified as the 28-year-old police officer who shot Brown.
Later that day, the department also revealed surveillance footage showing Brown stealing cigarettes from the Ferguson Mart and Liquor prior to his death.
Reports from Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson stated that Officer Wilson had no knowledge of the teen's involvement in a crime prior to the shooting.
Since the 18-yeaar-old teen's death, conflicts between authorities and the largely-black community have become eminent.
Even more, Brown's friends and supporters slammed the police for delaying the identification of the cop who shot him for fear for the officer's life.
Meanwhile, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon (R) approved an order declaring the town under a state of emergency on Saturday, enacting a midnight to 5 a.m. curfew in Ferguson in response to the continuing unrest in the town.
After the declaration, seven people were taken into custody while one man was fatally shot during an all-night protest, according to Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson.
Reports indicated that the highway patrol used teargas to subdue protesters who reportedly violated the local curfew. Authorities believed that the protesters were armed.
