(Photo : Reuters) OnePlus is running a promotion that will see the company ditch the pre-order requirement for potential buyers of the One Plus 2.
Any would-be smartphone buyer will be pleased to know that OnePlus is ditching the compulsory invite requirement to purchase the OnePlus 2 smartphone. This will take effect on Dec. 5.
Prior to the recent announcement, OnePlus only seld the OnePlus 2 through an intricate system of reservation lists and invites. This created a bottleneck especially since demands have gone up while supply remains at the same pace.

In a forum post, OnePlus said, "The invite system has been crucial to letting us scale our operations and has given our fans a unique way to share OnePlus with the people in their lives. But we are always trying to enhance the OnePlus experience for you and taking risks to push ourselves and show real improvements. That's why we're making the OnePlus 2 invite-free...forever."
The lifting of the invite scheme could mean that OnePlus has finally got its manufacturing process into high gear. It is important to note that OnePlus instituted that invitation system in order to hold down demands as the company's manufacturing and supply ring cannot keep up.
For those who want the OnePlus X, the invite system is still in effect for that device. However, OnePlus is planning to roll out a special promotion starting Dec. 5 until Dec. 7 which will allow people to purchase the OnePlus X smartphone even without the requisite invite. At around this time, buyers can purchase a OnePlus 2 StyleSwap for half price and they can also get 90 percent discount on other OnePlusOne accessories.
For current iPhone owners, there is a workaround. They can buy the recently released OnePlus iPhone case for $20 and it comes with a free OnePlus X invite, according to PC Mag.
The OnePlus 2 currently costs $330 and considering its price tag, it is a pretty decent smartphone compared to other high-end and expensive flagship devices from big manufacturers like Apple and Samsung.
