According to the rumors, the company is working on a new phone that is said to be a follow up to their Huawei P8. Rumors from China indicate that  the new P9 will be available in March, a month after the Barcelona CES (which takes place between February 22 and 25). The said month is nearly a year after the Huawei P8 was launched in April 2015.

Aside from the launch date speculations, there are also rumors about the Huawei P9 specs. According to rumors, the phone would have a 5.2-inch display screen, although there are no details yet on the resolution and the pixel density. Huawei P9 screen size is similar to that of its predecessor, the P8.

There are also speculations that Huawei P9 will feature a curved design. Although it has not yet been confirmed, this curved build could be similar to that of the Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge.

In addition, it is said that Huawei P9 will feature an octa-core Kirin 950 processor with a standard 4GB of RAM. The phone will feature a variety of storage capacity such as 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB versions. The phone will also feature a built-in microSD card slot to expand the memory. A fingerprint scanner and retina scanner are expected to be featured on this phone, as well as a dual-camera.

Meanwhile, Huawei has announced on their Weibo page that they have shipped 100 million phone units so far in 2015.
