Dalembert is a Haitian-Canadian and played college basketball for Seton Hall University. He is listed as 6 feet 11 and weighs 250 pounds.
The 13-year NBA veteran was selected with the 26th overall pick by the Philidelphia 76ers in the 2001 NBA Draft. He was traded to the Sacramento Kings for Andres Nocioni and Spencer Hawes after playing eight seasons with the Sixers.
According to the NBA's official website, he averages 7.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 0.5 assist per game, shooting 70 percent from the foul line and having a 43.8 percentage field goal shooting during his stint with the Dallas Mavericks in the league's 2014-2015 regular season. He was later waived by the Mavericks last October prior to the start of the NBA 2015-16 regular season.
He ranked 24th in blocks among NBA leaders in the 2013-14 season and led Dallas in rebounding for 36 times and 34 times in the blocks department. In the same season, he registered his season-high 20 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on January 15, 2014.
He became a Canadian citizen in 2007 and was able to join the country's national team in hopes of qualifying for the Olympics. However, he was later dismissed from the team.
Dalembert also previously played for Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks in the NBA.
Shanxi have decided to replace former NBA player Dominique Jones and retains the 6 feet 9 Yancy Gates to be teamed up with Dalembert to create a dominant inside presence. The Brave Dragons are currently in 14th place with a 7-11 win-loss record.
Shanxi have released foreign guard Dominique Jones.
The team ranks 14th place this season with a 7-11 win-loss record.
