Eight people, including one woman, have been arrested in China for selling iPhone 6S dummies. The suspects were reportedly trying to pass off their fake products as real and were also trying to trick buyers into paying the actual price of the smartphone.
The gang allegedly made fake purchase receipts to show their customers. The group is suspected to be behind eight separate incidents which involves a combined fraud of US$9,000.

The iPhone dummies were bought in mainland China. They allegedly came with purchase receipts from one Hong Kong vendor, which obviously did not exist.
Surprisingly enough, the buyers were told to check the product after they paid for it. But once they received the money, the gang disappeared into thin air.
Two people reported to the police after falling victims to the fraudsters. They said that the gang sold the iPhone 6S phones at HK$200 cheaper than the actual retail price, in order to entice the customers.
The suspects reportedly used social media to advertise the iPhones. Police received reports that the notorious gang recruited a bunch of teenagers to help them sell the products to innocent buyers through social media. The teens were reportedly paid hundreds of dollars to complete the illegal deed.
Eric Wong, a senior inspector at the Tuen Mun district crime unit, recently warned consumers about this fraud. He urged people to ensure that they are buying products from reputable vendors.
