Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note is expected to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update by March 2016. Multiple reports confirmed that the Chinese manufacturer is still ironing out a few details before they roll out the update.

According to PC-Tablet, the MIUI update will take around 512MB of storage. The outlet reported that Xiaomi's MUI operations manager recently took to Weibo to confirm that both Mi 4 and Mi Note will be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updat soon. He also confirmed that many of the existing models will be getting the update not long after.

It was also said that the software for testing in closed beta has been rolled out and is already in the final stages of testing, which could only mean that it is only a matter of time before it becomes available to the general user.

Meanwhile, the publication also held that Xiaomi has been getting criticism from users due to the slow release of updates. It was said that this has even affected their market share, specifically for users looking for high-end smartphones.

"It seems to have affected the overall sales since users will never purchase a high-end smartphone that will not get frequent updates," the outlet explained.

As reported by The Indian Express, the MIUI 7 ROM based on Android 5.1 was released back in October, which means this would be a rather timely update. Given it weighs in a hefty 518 MB, multiple reports speculate that Xiaomi will have plenty of its own software bundle included in the Marshmallow.
