The management follows a '5 + 2' model where five courageous tourists are accompanied by two security guides as they walk on the glass pane path. They are given 30 minutes to tour and enjoy the splendid view overlooking the city. During this one-of-a-kind course, all adventurers are secured by a harness with two ropes. Aside from safety it provides, it also allows thrill-seekers pose for some shots near or along the edge of the walkway.

In October, a team of Chinese tourists went hysterical after finding out that the glass beneath their feet chipped. The U-shaped walkway extending up to 68 meters on the Yuntai Mountain in Henan Province was seated on a cliff face dangling at over 1000 feet above sea level. It was opened to public on September 20 this year.

One of the tourists posted photos of the chipped piece on her Weibo account. "[I've] just witnessed history. The glass-bottomed walkway on Yuntai Mountain just cracked. When I was about to reach the end [of the passage], I heard a sudden bang and felt a shake under my feet," she stated. "It cracked, it really cracked!", then [I] pushed the people in front of me to leave. [I was] terrified."

A representative from the Yuntai Mountain Scenic Spot has confirmed that the cracked glass was only one of the three layers. The cause of the breaking is suggested to be from a stainless steel mug that one tourist dropped on the walkway.
