Huawei and Etisalat Team up to Launch 4K Ultra HD TV Service

(Photo : Getty Images) Huawei and Etisalat team up to bring consumers access to 4K Ultra-HD TV channels and VOD through Etisalat’s new 4K Set-Top Box.
Chinese Telecommunication Company Huawei in partnership with Etisalat to introduce a 4K Ultra-High Definition (Ultra-HD) TV service in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
The partnership between these two giant companies is aimed at creating new television channels that will supports 4K resolution programs. The channel will be exclusively available for Etisalat's eLife subscribers in the UAE by the first quarter of 2016.

Huawei and Etisalat want to bring the ultimate video experience to homes in the UAE. According to both companies, consumers who use Etisalat's eLife service will now enjoy access to 4K Ultra-HD TV channels and VOD through Etisalat's new 4K Set-Top Box.
Rashed Al Abbar, Vice President of consumer product innovation at Etisalat, emphasized that the company is committed to bringing the most advanced TV viewing experience to their customers by providing them good video quality content.
Al Abbar noted that Etisalat was the first to bring IPTV solution to the UAE a few years ago. Now, they are proud to introduce 4K technology service, which is another revolution in home viewing entertainment and video. He added, as a leader in home entertainment, Etisalat is delighted to work with Huawei, enabling their customers to enjoy an IMAX-like experience at home.
In addition, Peng Xiongji, general manager of Huawei UAE said that "This cooperation is a great opportunity to serve Etisalat's customers who are looking for immersive and engaging video experiences. We believe that the mix of Etisalat and Huawei innovations in the 4K realm will ultimately provide the best services to customers in the region."
Last year, during at the Ultra-Broadband Summit 2015, which was held in UAE, experts and analyst suggested that the MENA region has a high content consumption of media entertainment and it is currently growing faster than almost any other emerging business market in the world.
