MMA News:UFC and Sina Sports Ink Strategic Partnership Deal

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Chinese online sports portal Sina Sports have inked a strategic partnership deal to reach a larger Chinese audience in the mainland.

According to SportsPro, Sina Sports will live stream UFC events that include Chinese mixed martial arts fighters across the country as they compete in the Octagon against the best athletes in the world being the official digital media partner of the MMA promotion in mainland China.

As part of the strategic partnership deal, Sina Sports will also be the in charge of re-launching the UFC's official Chinese website, www.ufc.cn, which will provide on-demand content including fighter profiles images, videos, columns and fan forums.

Co-producing UFC content exclusively for the Chinese market is also being planned by Sina. This includes educational and training videos, and assisting the UFC in organizing events and pushing content to Chinese audiences via social media SINA Weibo, China's tweeter-like platform, according to Sina.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is the world's largest and premier mixed martial arts promotion company which features most of the top-ranked and world class caliber fighters in the sport. It is based in Las Vegas with offices in Toronto Singapore, London and Sao Paulo.

Annually, UFC holds over 40 international and domestic events that consistently sell out some of the most prestigious arenas around the world. UFC Champions like Conor McGregor and rising stars such as Sage Northcutt have become icons of the sport.

Recently, UFC has seen huge interest in its women's divisions, with athletes such as Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm making headlines, attracting new audiences and captivating fans all over the globe.

At present, UFC events are broadcast live in over 150 different countries and territories and over one billion TV households worldwide in 21 different languages.
