Basketball News: Former NBA Player Jianlian Yi Leads Guandong Tigers to Beat Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in CBA Round 25

Chinese basketball hotshot and former NBA player Jianlian Yi helped the CBA's seventh ranked Guandong Tigers to demolish the league's current second best team Zhejiang Guangsha Lions with a 122-102 victory in the last round on Friday night.
According to Asia-Basket, Guandong Tigers dictated the game by leading in the score from the very start of the ballgame. The team was able to capitalize and control the entire game and stretched their lead in each quarter.

Guandong Tigers looks very composed and well-organized offensively having four of their players produce double digit points. Chinese forward Zhou Peng scored 35 points, Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu added 29 points and former NBA veteran Will Bynum contributed 16 points.
Jianlian Yi, the 2007 NBA draft sixth overall pick selected by the Milwaukee Bucks, had a very impressive performance in their game against the Guangsha Lions, registering a spectacular double-double production of 28 points, posting 16 rebounds and dishing out two assists.
Yi previously played for the New Jersey Nets, Washington Wizards and the Dallas Mavericks in the National Basketball Association. In the league's 2011-12 season, the Chinese star averaged 7.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.7 assist per game, according to the NBA's official website.
Zhejiang Guangsha Lions was paced by the American power forward Elijah Holman with 27 points and 16 rebounds. With the loss, the team keeps the second position and they now have identical standing with the Sichuan Blue Whales.
Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for their next games. Guandong Tigers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with the league's defending champion Beijing Ducks. Guandong Tigers will face Beijing Ducks at home in the next round. On the other hand, Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play against Jilin Tigers and are hoping to win this game.
