CBA Recap: Shandong Defeats League Leader Xinjiang, Marbury-less Beijing Wins Over Qingdao

(Photo : gettyimages.com) Former NBA player Michael Beasley together with import Pooh Jeter led the Shandong to beat Xinjiang in the 27th round of the CBA.
League leader Xinjiang Flying Tigers suffered a back-to-back loss after bowing to Shandong Golden Stars 110-100 in round 27 of the Chinese Basketball Association league on Wednesday.
Former NBA veteran Michael Beasley and import Pooh Jeter led the team with a combined 68 points with Beasley also posting 17 rebounds, according to Xinhua.

Xinjiang's Shirelijan scored a team-high 25 points while former Brooklyn Nets player Andray Blatche and Chinese center Zhou Qi had 18 points apiece, with Blatche grabbing 17 rebounds.
Lacking precision, the Flying Tigers fell six points behind at the start of the game, before Beasley stretched Shandong's lead to 23 points in the first quarter.
Five domestic players of Xinjiang had better teamwork and managed to cut the gap to 10 points for a while in the second quarter.
Rising star Zhou Qi led Xinjiang to a keep the fighting spirit for the team alive, but Shandong kept a 22-point lead with the spectacular game performance of the two international players.
Xinjiang cut the difference to nine points in the last quarter but there was not enough time left in the game.
With the loss, the Flying Tigers now have a 22 wins and 5 loses team standing and share the top spot with the Sichuan BW.
In the other matches of the 27th round of the league, the defending champions Beijing Ducks managed to demolish Qingdao Eagles 127-108 without the former NBA star Stephon Marbury, who is serving his one-game suspension for a controversial post-game comment about the refereeing in the league.
In Wednesday's other games, Sichuan Blue Whales crushed Aolong 113-100, Zhejian outlasted Guangsha 125-116, Bayi Rockets beats Jilin Northeast Tigers 98-91, Liaoning Flying Leopards crushed Fujian Sturgeons 119-102, Guangdong Southern Tigers pulverized Jiangsu Dragons 109-84, Shanxi Brave Dragons hammered Tianjin Ronggang 136-107, Shanghai Sharks smashed Shenzhen Leopards120-105.
In Tuesday's game, Foshan Long-Lions suffered their 14th straight loss, going down 112-120 to Tongxi Monkey Kings and becoming the first team to be shut out of the playoffs.
